Margaret Cadwaladr was born in Vancouver, BC. She earned a Masters degree and a Diploma in Adult Education from the University of British Columbia. She moved to Vancouver Island in 1993.

Margaret is the author of In Veronica’s Garden, the story of a British aristocrat who developed gardens in Ireland and Canada in the style of Victorian Garden writer William Robinson.

In Veronica’s Garden was extremely well received. A synopsis of the book appeared in the garden section of the Irish Times. It has received reviews in many publications including the Washington Post, the Irish Examiner, Pacific Horticulture, Irish Gardens magazine, the Journal of the American Rhododendron Society, the New England Journal of Garden History, Public Gardens, the Seattle Times and Seattle Post Intelligencer.

The book was a finalist for an international award given by the Council on Botanical and Horticultural libraries for an "outstanding contribution to the literature of horticulture or botany."

Margaret has had articles published in Canada, the US and Great Britain.

She is also an educator and public speaker. She has given lectures at a number of locations, both local and international including Toronto, Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, Boston, Mass. and at a number of locations on Vancouver Island. She is currently developing a creative writing course with Sheila Munro, author of The Lives of Mothers and Daughters: Growing up with Alice Munro.

Margaret has served as a regional representative and Vice-President of the Federation of BC Writers.
