M.A.C. Farrant is the multi award-winning author of eight collections of satirical and humorous short fiction, most recently, The Breakdown So Far. (Talon, March 2007). In addition, a novel-length memoir, My Turquoise Years, was published by Greystone Books/Douglas & McIntyre in April, 2004. 

Her stories have been adapted for both radio and television and are widely anthologized in both Canada and the United States. Stories have also been translated into French and Italian. A ten-part serialization of My Turquoise Years was broadcast on CBC Radio 1 in June, 2005. 

She is a book reviewer for the Vancouver Sun, the Toronto Globe & Mail, and Victoria Focus Magazine.

M.A.C. Farrant has taught fiction workshops in Canada and Australia.  She was a Visiting Writer-in-Residence at Macquarie University, Sydney Australia, and a lecturer at the University of Victoria, Dept of Writing.  She has made frequent visits to Writing and English classes at the high school level where she has given readings and conducted writing exercises.
