| I'm originally from Melbourne, Australia, but I've lived in and around Vancouver for over 20 years, and for most of those years I've worked as a freelance journalist and writer. My articles have appeared in a number of newspapers and magazines and over the years I've worked in the business, city and feature sections of the Vancouver Sun, as the Vancouver correspondent for Marketing Magazine, as a stringer for Reuters, and as a researcher for CBC-TV.
While most of my writing revolves around business, I've written about everything from disappearing aboriginal languages to CEOs who fly stunt planes. I love everything about the writing process: the research, the interviews and putting the actual words down on paper. At times it's even exciting. I covered the 1994 Stanley Cup riots for the Vancouver Sun, I've interviewed a CEO while flying in his company jet, and I've written a story from a Blimp.
Outside of business writing, I'm a mother with an obsession for history and heritage houses and I've managed to parlay these interests into a guide book called Frommer's Vancouver with Kids, and At Home with History: The Untold Secrets of Greater Vancouver's Heritage Homes.
