Programs

The Federation of BC Writers provides various programs/projects of special interest to the writing community: our Off the Page writers in schools program, Literary Writes, Horsefly Manor and the Fed Anthology.

If you are a member of the Fed and have recently published work in books, anthologies, magazines, periodicals, or websites, you may be eligible for our Off The Page School Program.

Here’s how it works: Fill out the web-form application at the Fed’s website. You will include a writing resume or list of recent publications, and a brief biography. If your application is accepted, you will organize a reading and discussion at a school of your choice, and you will be paid $200. It’s that easy and that good. You get paid and a class of BC students gets exposure to BC writing. You will also have your name, bio, and most recent book cover published at the Fed website. This will give you extra exposure and let teachers in your area know that you are available for additional bookings.

2008 Applications closed December 1, 2007.
2009 Applications will be accepted between October 15 - December 1, 2008.
