WordWorks
Membership in the FED includes an annual subscription to WordWorks, the quarterly journal of the Federation of BC Writers. WordWorks provides information on writing, publishing and industry issues aimed at the professional development of writers and serves to establish a sense of community between our members. Identified as one of the most important services provided by the FED, WordWorks is especially valued by those members living in rural areas and in the "far reaches" of the province. Regular features include author interviews, writing tips, contest & market listings, new title coverage and a section devoted to promoting the works and accomplishments of our members. The Federation of BC Writers offers several online editions of WordWorks, available as selected individual articles and as full PDF versions of the print magazine. Members are encouraged to submit essays, opinion pieces, articles on the craft and business of writing, and reports on issues of interest to emerging and established writers. Shirley Rudolph provides desktop design and a sharp eye in the production of the FED's quarterly journal, and talented writers Margaret Thompson, Linda Crosfield, Gail Buente and Shannon Cowan make up the WordWorks editorial committee, along with managing editor Fernanda Viveiros.
Contact Margaret at magpye@shaw.ca or Fernanda at bcwriters@shaw.ca with article proposals or check here for submission guidelines.
